About Antiqua Ships

Antiqua is an artisan workshop built to provide repair, restoration or preservation of antique or collectable models of ships, boats or other maritime craft.  Located on the Somerset levels, the workshop is home to a small gallery and an equally small but specialist collection of out-of-print maritime books.

Our Process

From the outset, we work for you.  We begin with a complete technical, historical and artefact survey of the vessel, from this we can then assess the level to which we are to work.  We also offer a seek & find service so that we locate your specific model of choice, we advise on values and will arrange the acquisition and delivery seamlessly.

The Work of Dismantling and Repair

A necessary part of any repair or restoration but less so to preserve, we carefully determine the work to be done and so it begins

Detail,detail,detail

As the work develops we are focused on preserving the original construction whilst working with the client to achieve the detail necessary
